The F1000 Championship launched its 2020 race schedule, the new title sponsor, BuilditFinance.com and the full range of rewards on the opening day of the MSD Live 2019 event at Silverstone International.
It was a busy two days for the premium garage set aside for championship as the Jedi Racing Cars Factory Team ran two race cars for full day testing. Charles Boniface, James Barwell, James Hills, and Jack Tomalin each spent multiple sessions testing F1000 specification Jedi Racing Cars and we hope to see a few of them joining grid at some stage.
Team Sellars Racing provided their own Jedi Racing Car for one off sessions and Andrew Cooper, Jonathan Lisseter and Declan Lee tested with them – Lee coming back for another go on the second day!
Joining F1000 in the garage was the Virtual Reality Racing Club with their simulator, running the F1000 Jedi on The Grid Game (though there was a brief interlude to watch the World Cup Rugby Final on it….). Rich Hadley put a few of the test drivers through their paces before going out as well as introducing passing non-testers to the F1000 Jedi on the virtual platform.
It was wet. It was cold. It was Silverstone!
However, it was thoroughly productive and it was a great opportunity for our test drivers to familiarise themselves with the Jedi Racing Car in a chilled out environment, whilst checking out the competition.
We’ll be back for 2020, on 20-21 November if anyone would like to make an advance booking!
